Background

This illustration was drawn over a campus photo of the central clocktower/carillon of the Allendale campus. The basis for the bands of color was the “Progress” Pride flag designed by Daniel Quasar.

The two bands were separated due to their distinct meanings, similarly to the flag, as is described on Progress Initiative’s website:

The pride flag stripes were separated from the trans, and black & brown stripes due to their difference in meaning, as well as to shift focus and emphasis to what is important in our current community climate.
